Romance is acrucial part of any teen drama, andPretty Little Liarshas many couples who deserve the title of swoon-worthy. While Ezra made Aria's life too dramatic, it's safe to say that Hanna's life improved after she fell in love with Caleb. She seemed to have it all: she was popular and stylish, had a big group of friends, and a sweet boyfriend. Of course, being stalked by A put a damper on her happiness about this budding romance.

But even though Hanna and Caleb have a popular love story full of real connection and sweet moments, it's possible to view their relationship as full of highs and lows. Whilethese two always loved each other and it was inevitable that they would end up together, their story did have some bumpy points.

Toxic: Hanna Hid Caleb In Her House,Which Was A Mistake
Some storylines in season1don't hold up now. One of them is when Hanna hid Caleb in her house since he didn't have a place to go.
While this was kind of Hanna, it upset her mom and created some major drama.It was a mistake as Hanna wasn't telling her mom the truth and she proved that she was untrustworthy. Caleb was neglected by his family and he didn't have anyone looking out for him, but this was too big of a burden for a teenager to deal with. Sometimes Caleb wasn't the best influence on Hanna as he influenced her to rebel.
Perfect: They Had A Sweet, Special First Time While Camping
Hanna lost her virginity while camping with Caleb inthe first season. Her first time was sweet and special, and this was a meaningful part of this couple's story.
While Hanna and Caleb had some problems, this was one part of their relationship that was totally perfect. Many first times, especially in high school, can be awkward, but Caleb made sure that Hanna was safe and loved, and this is important to see on a teen show.
Toxic: They Started Drinking Together
Caleb and Hanna both had a drinking problem in the fifth season ofPretty Little Liars. They egged each other on andwere terrible influences.

This was definitely a toxic time in the young couple's relationship. They were both ignoring the problems in their lives and instead of talking about them, particularly about how scary it was to be stalked by A, they sat and drank more. Hanna was independent before she fell in love with Caleb, and sometimes it felt like she was trying to be as offbeat and alternative ashe was when she should have been true to herself.
Perfect: They Left Rosewood And Tried Out NYC Life Together
By the last season of Pretty Little Liars, the liars had moved out of Rosewood and then come back to solve the show's mystery once and for all.
Caleb and Hanna had a perfect love story because they left their small town together after graduating from high school. They followed their dreams and hearts to New York City where Hanna joined the fashion world, just like she had always wanted. While their relationship crashed and burned here, since they rarely saw each other and started to drift apart, it was cool that they took this big step into adult life together. Only a couple with a strong connection and foundation could move to a new city. Even though they split up after this period, fans knew it was only a matter of time before they reunited.
Toxic: Caleb Moved To Ravenswood, Breaking Hanna's Heart
When Caleb moved to Ravenswood, he wanted to get to know more about his past, and he knew that something creepy and sinister was going on. He was drawn to Miranda and to the fact that the cemetery with a tombstone that said "Caleb Rivers" and had his photo.
Even though Caleb felt that this was the right move to make, it was devastating for Hanna and he broke her heart. Of course, this character decision was because Tyler Blackburn was going to star on the spin-offRavenswood, but it still didn't paint Caleb in a very good light. If he was such a great boyfriend, why would he leave his home and his happy relationship?
Perfect: HannaBecameCaleb's Family
Caleb was a lost kid who others didn't understand when he and Hanna met each other. His birth mom lived in California but he didn't get to know her until later on in the show, and he was living in foster care.

Hanna and Caleb are perfect because theybecame each other's family. Even before they got married at the end of the series and literally started a family, they had a bond that seemed closer than the other characters did with their partners. They were both smart and knew that kind of connection didn't happen often.
Toxic: Caleb Fell In Love With Hanna's Best Friend Spencer
Even fans who didn't think that Caleb and Spencer should have dated shed a tear when the relationship didn't work out. They both seemed so hurt and heartbroken by this ending.
But even though they did have a nice but brief romance, it still seems like the wrong choice for Caleb to have made. If he was perfect for Hanna, why would he fall deeply in love with her best friend? Hanna was understanding and forgiving, but most people would have been a lot more upset.
Perfect: Hanna Knew She Couldn't Marry Anyone Else
It was definitely unexpected to learn that Hanna was engaged to Jordan, not Caleb. If anyone was going to get married first out of the group of liars, it seems like it would have been this couple.
Hanna thankfully decided to leave Jordan as she couldn't marry anyone but Caleb. This is really dramatic and also proof that these two characters are perfect for each other and could never end up with anyone else. While Jordan was kind, he wasn't anywhere near as compelling as Caleb.
Toxic: They Broke Up Several Times
While Hanna and Caleb are a favorite pair, it's hard to ignore the number of times that they broke up.

Every time, it seemed like there wasn't a true reason or logical explanation. They often got mad at each other, like at the beginning of their relationship when Jenna paid Caleb to spy on Hanna, and Hanna was too upset to realize that Caleb had stopped when hefell in love withher.Is a couple who is this rocky really perfect for each other?
Perfect: They Got Married And Hanna Was Pregnant By The Series' End
Pretty Little Liarsfans wanted the ending to Hanna and Caleb's love story to be positive, and thankfully, by the series finale, they were married and expecting a baby.
While this couple did have some problems, this was the only conclusion that viewers wanted. They were both excited for theirupcoming journey as parents andwhen they were with each other, they felt like home.
